Hello and welcome to my Top 5 Wednesday post! Yes, I know I am late to the game for the second day in a row… Life, you know?
T5W is a weekly meme is hosted by Sam @ThoughtsOnTomes. You can visit the Goodreads T5W group for more info.
This week’s theme is…
August 3rd: Books You Feel Differently About
— Talk about the books that you feel differently about after you’ve had time to think about them or re-read them. These are books that you gave a low rating, and then thought about it or re-read it and ended up loving. Or a book that you loved when you first read it, but after you’ve thought about it or you’ve gotten older, you see how many problems it had.
Yeah I really wasn’t feeling this week’s theme. The only book I could really think for this one would be the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. I read this series when I was 19 and aside from the fact I didn’t think the writing was particularly good, I enjoyed the storyline. Now looking back as an adult, I realize how co-dependent Edward and Bella’s relationship was. Funny how these things don’t really become clear until you’ve had more life experience huh?
I decided to a past T5W post, so I am going to chose one from February 2015…
Books That Take Place in Your Country/Region/or Area
Since I am from the United States, I thought I would narrow it down to the state I live in, Ohio…
» Mr. Mercedes, Finders Keepers, and End of Watch (The Bill Hodges Trilogy) by Stephen King
This is a great crime thriller series by the King himself that is set in Cleveland, Ohio. When I went to Stephen King’s End of Watch Book Tour, he said that he will be doing a spin off of this series that will be set in my hometown of Dayton, Ohio!
You can read my reviews of the first two books in the series here → Book Review: Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King & Book Review: Finders Keepers by Stephen King
» June by Miranda Beverly-Whittemore
June is set in a fictional town in Ohio called St. Jude. The author references Lima and Columbus Ohio, so I assume St. Jude would be located toward central Ohio.

» The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
Ok so I didn’t actually read this book, but I did watch the movie adaptation with my nephew who DID read the book. This book is set in my hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, where Camp Haven is stationed, is about 20 minutes from my house.
» I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore
This was actually one of the first sci-fi books I ever remember reading. I actually really enjoyed this book when I read it, but never got around to continuing on with the series. I am Number Four is set in the fictional town of Paradise, Ohio.
» Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng
I haven’t actually read this one either but it is on my TBR. I’m not sure where in Ohio this book is set though… can I get a fact check on this one?
» The Summer that Melted Everything by Tiffany McDaniel
This is the book I am currently reading. I have heard such wonderful things about it, so I am excited to get further into the story. The Summer that Melted Everything is set in the fictional town of Breathed, Ohio.
How nice to find five books from Ohio! I have read 2 books based in Kentucky and I am writing one based in Kentucky. All I need to find is 2 more 🙂 Great concept!

I don’t know about you but I get super excited when I read a book based in Ohio because they are so few and far between! I’m assuming the same for Kentucky 😅 Look for a list on Goodreads, I’m sure there are more than you would expect!

Hehe, I love when bloggers change up the topics for these memes. 😉 I saw so many posts for today’s topic so thanks for providing some variety!
OK, Ohio is a very specific settting. I can’t think off the top of my head any books set there, but I probably have? I’ll look into it!
I do want to read Everything I Never Told You this year, so when I do I will have read 1 book set in Ohio. hah

Hahaha You’re welcome! I do like to go rogue every once in a while 😅
Don’t feel bad, books set in Ohio are few and far between. It’s not a book setting hotspot that’s for sure! I always geek out a little bit when I read a book set in Ohio and it mentions real cities and places that I’m familiar with!
