This week’s theme is…

May 22nd: Emerald Covers
— May’s birthstone is emerald so talk about those emerald covers. Not just green. EMERALD.

For some reason this week’s topic sounded like an interesting challenge!  I feel like emerald is not a common color included on book covers, so I was interested in seeing if I could find 5 books with emerald on the cover… to my delight, I found 6!  Some of these are a bit of a stretch, but I think they still count 🙂

This week’s theme is…

September 12th: Books For My Younger Self
— This was recommended as a topic on twitter and I love it! Books that you wish your younger self would have read to learn a life lesson, get more self confidence, open your eyes to a new perspective, etc.

I decided to spin this to share YA books I’ve read in the past few years that I feel would have been important for my high school self to read because they include important themes.  Sure, there are tons of books that I know my younger self would have loved to read, but I wanted to include books that taught me something as an adult, that would have benefited me as a teenager as well.

This week’s theme is…

February 7th: Favorite M/M Couples
–Who are your favorite dudes loving other dudes? (Note: this isn’t specifically cis gay couples, but also applies to couples that include bi men, trans men, pan men, ace men, etc.)

While scrolling through the books I’ve read over the years on Goodreads, it became pretty obvious that books that feature M/M couples were scarce.   This is something I have been aware of, and thankfully have been working on rectifying over the past few months.  I was happy when I realized that all of the couples on my list feature at least one of the main characters in the book, instead of secondary characters that do not get as much attention.

I would like to preface this T5W with the knowledge that listing these couples *MAY* be considered mild spoilers.  It is not always stated in the synopsis that the character is gay, nor does it always state who their love interest is.  If you consider this a spoiler, then this list possibly contains mild spoilers for The Heart’s Invisible Furies, Simon Vs. the Homo Sapien Agenda, Six of Crows/ Crooked Kingdom,The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue & A Gathering of Shadows / A Conjuring of Light

I will do my best to make this as non-spoilery as possible 🙂
