Happy Sunday bookworms!

I know I have been fairly scarce this month, but traveling out of town for the past 3 weekends + the blog redesign has really put me behind on things around here.  I hope you all will keep being patient with me as I play a little catch up.  I promise I am going to knock your socks off in May 🙂

Let’s see what I had going on this week, shall we?

*Weekly Wrap-Up is a weekly post where I feature what posts were published on the blog for the past week, any bookish/blog happenings, what I recently finished reading, what I am currently reading, what I will be reading next, noteworthy posts around the bookish blogosphere, and any interesting bookish articles I came across.

Happy Sunday bookworms!

Happy Easter to those who celebrate!  Also, Chag sameach to all who celebrate Passover!

My family and I left on Thursday for a little holiday weekend getaway in northern Ohio at my parent’s home on Lake Erie.  We’ve been enjoying some good weather, good food, and lots of wonderful family time with my side of the family.  It is always nice to slow down and recharge.  Unfortunately it’s back to reality tomorrow.

I took a little unplanned hiatus this week from the blog, and for once I didn’t feel guilty about it at all.  I think all the stress of redesigning my blog burned me out a bit, so it was nice to take a little break.  Plus I never get much accomplished when prepping for a family vacation, so it was the perfect excuse to take a step back and not stress about getting posts up.

Despite my absence around the blogosphere, it has given me some time to work on some upcoming projects & posts.  Fear not, I’ll be around this week 🙂

Let’s see what I had going on this past week…

Happy Sunday bookworms!

As some of you may remember, I have been considering redesigning my blog for a while now.  I am happy to report that I made a lot of progress with this over the weekend.  My biggest hurdle was creating a blog header.  After many long hours, I finally designed a new header that I absolutely love.  And guess what?  I am revealing it to you all today in my wrap-up…

Go on, you know you are dying to see what I’ve come up with…

This week’s theme is…

April 5th: Top SFF Books on Your TBR *Booktube SFF Awards Babble Crossover Topic!*
–Talk about the science fiction and fantasy books you want to read ASAP!

If you remember, a few weeks ago (all the way back to March 8th) the theme for T5W was “Favorite Science Fiction & Fantasy Books.”  Unfortunately, my list for this topic only included fantasy books as science fiction is not a genre I frequent.  If you are curious, you can read my post here →Top 5 Wednesday: Favorite Fantasy Books.  Anyways!  I vowed in that post to make reading more science fiction a priority this year.

Here are my top science fiction books that I would like to read this year…

April 2017 TBR

AprilTBR

Confession time: I didn’t do so well with my March TBR, BUT I have excuses good reasons.  I blame this on the fact that many of the library books I requested for my upcoming book festivals started coming in…  My hands were tied.   Not to mention that one of the SOKY book festival authors, Cinda Chima, canceled and will no longer be attending the festival, so I had to jump ship on the book I planned on reading (The Demon King) to make time for other reads… Nothing personal Cinda Chima, but if you can no longer come to the festival, your book gets put on hold.  These are all legit excuses right?  (The correct response is “right!”)

Anyways!  Since most of my April TBR will be books for my upcoming festivals, I think it’s a pretty safe bet that the majority of these books WILL get read.

Let’s see what’s on the agenda for April shall we?
