Book Review: The Girls in the Garden by Lisa Jewell

TheGirlsintheGardenCov.jpg

The Girls in the Garden is another example of a review request heavily influenced by the beautiful cover.  I am a big time sucker for any type of nature (trees, flowers, gardens, jungles, forests, etc.) on a book cover.  I just can’t help myself.  Would you just look at it?After I quit drooling over the cover, I took a glance at the book description and saw the buzz words “dark secrets,” “devastating mystery,” and “communal garden.”   I was sold!

Book Blogger Recs: Bloggers to Follow for Thriller/Suspense/Crime Readers

BBRecsTSCbloggers

Hello bookworms!

Today I would like to introduce to you all a new monthly feature here on Cover2CoverMom called “Book Blogger Recs”  ((super creative, I know))  BUT these are no ordinary recommendations my friends!  Each month I will feature book bloggers based on a particular theme.  Furthermore, this will not be a simple listing of blogs, but also a mini Q&A session so you can get to know the bloggers a little better before checking out their blogs for yourselves.  I can also personally guarantee that this post is packed full of great book recommendations by bloggers who really know their stuff!

Do I have any thriller/suspense/crime readers in the audience today?  If so, I have the PERFECT book blogger recs for you…

*Side note: I grouped thriller, suspense, and crime fictions genres together in this post as I feel many books cross over within these genres.

Book Review: Since She Went Away by David Bell

SinceSheWentAwayCov.jpg

I picked up Since She Went Away as part of my Books by the Banks TBR.  David Bell attends the BBTB book festival every year as Cincinnati, Ohio is his hometown.   Convenient right? Obviously being within an hour away from Cincinnati myself, I had heard of David Bell before, but I just hadn’t gotten around to reading any of his work.  The BBTB was the push I needed to finally pick up one of his books.  As Since She Went Away was release in June, this was the book that he was promoting at the festival.
