Bookish Weekly Wrap-Up: 7/8 – 7/14/19

Happy Sunday bookworms!

This past week was a busy week full of running my kids around to summer camps, sports practices, and such.  I cannot believe we are only 4 short weeks away from the back-to-school craziness!

Let’s see what I’ve been up to this week…

It is a beautiful day here in Ohio!  My family and I took advantage of the sunshine and went on a little 5.5 mile canoeing adventure this morning.

As my youngest gets older, it’s wonderful to get out and do more things outdoors as a family that would have been too hard to do when she was younger.

» The Twelve by Cindy Lin

#YARC19

This is a middle grade fantasy new release that I was sent a copy of in exchange for review.  I really enjoyed the magic system the revolved around the Chinese zodiac.  This book was a slow build up, but the last 100 pages were excellent!  I think this is a solid start to a MG fantasy series.

» Red Sister (Book of the Ancestor #1) by Mark Lawrence

While I am loving this story, it is taking me a long time to read it… Part of my problem is that I’ve been super busy during the days that when I finally get the chance to sit down and read, I fall asleep.  I hope to finish this one early this week.

» American Gods (American Gods #1) by Neil Gaiman

Status: 60%

I can see why this is a love it or hate it type of book.  I am listening to American Gods via audiobook with a full cast, and feel this is the best way to experience this story.

» The Whispers by Greg Howard

Status: 10%
