Hello bookworms!

Today I am announcing my participation in my first read along, and I couldn’t be more excited about it…

When Jane @Greenish Bookshelf dropped me a message to ask me to participate in her Anne of Green Gabels Read Along 2017, I knew I couldn’t resist.  I’ve been meaning to read this book for YEARS now, and I just can’t keep putting it off any longer.  This is the perfect excuse to finally pick it up.

The ultimate goal of this read along is to complete the entire 8 book series in the remaining 8 months of 2017.  If you are keeping track at home, that’s 1 book a month.  Now, I am not sure if I am going to be able to commit to the entire series, but I can at least commit to reading the first book, Anne of Green Gables.   When is this read along taking place?  Right now!

This read along kicks off this month (May) with the first book: Anne of Green Gables.  This is a very low pressure read along.  You can read the first book, pick up where ever you last left off in the series, or shoot for the stars and read the entire series.  It is completely up to you!

It just so happens, I received the Puffin in Bloom collection this past Christmas, which just so happens to include a gorgeous edition of Anne of Green Gables.

BUT I will probably read this book via audiobook since it is available through Hoopla (a free digital database offered through many local libraries) and I won’t have to risk damaging my physical copy 🙂

  2. I LOVE Anne of Green Gables and am happy to see this read a long one one my favourite Canadian classics. Last summer, I reread/listened to the first 3 books, read the second 3 for the first time and now need to finish the last 2 in the series (not to mention starting the Emily series). I look forward to hearing what you think of the loveable Anne Shirley and her hilarious, heartwarming antics!

    1. I thought you may have been the one who had read the series! I remember you posting your reviews! I hope you’ll link your reviews as the months go on. I’ll make sure I go and read them as I finish the book(s)…

      The audiobook I’m listening to is narrated by Susie Berneis? I don’t have any experience with her, but so far so good! She has narrated classics like Little Women, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, and The Secret Garden!

  6. This is fantastic! Anne of Green Gables brings back some very fond childhood memories. I adored this series as a young girl (I still do). I have a full set of all 8 books and was so very proud of them. I need this Puffin collection ❤

  7. Yesssss. I’m so glad you mentioned this! I am definitely joining up. 😀 I haven’t read these yet, unless you count the fact that I’m mid-Anne of Green Gables right now. This sounds like a ton of fun. Bring. It. On!

    Also: THOSE BOOKS. They are so pretty!!! Someone loves you very much to have gotten those for you. ❤

  9. OH. MY. GOSH. Those Puffin lovelies! This is the moment when I’m really jealous about you living in the States! I never get book mail! I’m an international little gnome. Those are so pretty!!!! More pics please!! I can see how you’d want to join the challenge! 😀

    But that said, I’ve been planning to read Anne for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS. (Haven’t we all.)

  11. Somehow I missed this post and saw the link on Jackie’s post today! I’m joining up! I’ve read the first one a few year ago, but never continued with the series, and I feel like I’ve missed out! Looking forward to this!
