April 2017 Book Haul

AprilBookHaul

Welcome to my April book haul, or as I like to refer to it: “the month I lost all control.”

So… I bought a few books in April.  Now, when I say “a few” I really mean a ludicrous amount of books.  We are talking 25+ books here.   In my defense, April just happened to be my birthday month AND I attended TWO book festivals…  I mean those are legit reasons to go on a book buying binge right?!

I really hope my husband never sees this post…

Whew!  See what I mean?  I am going to be on a book buying ban until the end of time… well at least until my next book festival in October 🙂

Which books did you purchase in April?

Have you read any of the books I hauled?  What did you think?

Comment below and let me know 🙂

  1. EPICCCC Birthday month haul Amanda!!! haha! you got to attend some pretty awesome book events which is always awesome. Goosebumps *heart eyes* so many childhood memories tied to those books 😉 A thousand Splendid Suns & Kite Runner = 2 of my faves *thumbs up emoji* lol, I hope you enjoy all of these amazing new reads 😉

  2. Haha.. okay I am going to agree that you might have went slightly crazy 😉 But so many deserved books that have found a wonderful home! I always love seeing the events you participate in as well. You would think being in Portland I would have plenty to attend, but they normally hold them all the way across town and is no easy journey when you cannot drive or take public transportation alone. Enjoy my friend ❤

  3. Happy week Amanda! I love the Butterfly and the Violin cover, checking the book out at the moment! I read the Libba Bray book a couple of years ago! Loved the pics ❤

    1. Thanks Annie! The Butterfly and the Violin is probably one of my favorite book covers of all time! I wrote a review for it last year. There are two stories taking place, one in the present and the other is set during WWII. I wasn’t a big fan of the story taking place in the present, but adored the WWII story.

  5. Wow!! Fantastic books – I think you just have to look at them as an investment in you!! The Thirteenth Tale is one of my favourite books!! Anne Frank is one that EVERYONE needs to read and i have enjoyed A Thousand Splendid Suns and Girl on the Train

  6. GURL! This is an amazing collection– even if it is a bit overwhelming. My question for you is this: How many of these books have you already read? Because, if these are all being added to your TBR: Yikes! I got the impression you’ve read many of these before.

The Thirteenth Tale was just recommended to me, so I will certainly have to check it out. I’ve read a shocking number of these books! I obviously love everything from Gaiman– but I struggle with some of the violence in Sandman. It’s a great story, but the nature of graphic novels… well, it turns out I won’t be able to finish this one story. Oh well.

    1. Hahahaha out of the 27 books I’ve read 12 of them 😅 so only 15 books added to the TBR 😂

I LOVED The Thirteenth Tale! It is very much a gothic feel, but those are my favorites ❤️ Lots of secrets and tragedy. Definitely not a happy book lol
