Dream Loot Crate: Bookish Crate (Theme: A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab)

Dream Loot Crate.jpg

I recently learned about a new challenge hosted by Loot Crate, and once I learned the details, I knew I had to participate in the fun! Loot Crate is currently wanting to know what fans would do if they could build the crate of their dreams… That’s right, they want us to build our own dream crates.

Well Loot Crate, challenge accepted!

First off, for those of you who don’t know: Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for pop culture fans filled with collectables and apparel from your favorite TV shows, movies, games, and more!

Things you will find in a Loot Crate include cool collectables like figurines, t-shirts, tech gadgets, artwork, home goods, etc. etc.  There is over $45 in value in every crate.  Perfect to treat your self, or give as a gift.  Christmas or birthday gift ideas for the win!

Whatsinthecrate

You simply select which crate you would like to subscribe to, then voila!  A crate filled with goodies will be sent to you monthly.  There are many different options to choose from, even a LootPets crate which features geekery for your pets!  How fun is that?

The wonderful thing about Loot Crate is that you are able to cancel at any time, or even skip a month and start back up the following month.  Not that you ever would want to because these crates are seriously awesome!

Obviously being the bookworm that I am, my dream crate would be filled with bookish goodies!  I’ve been thinking about it, and I would love a bookish subscription service where you select which book you want and the rest of the goodies are based on that book and/or series.  Think about it, you could select your genre (in this case fantasy) and each month you could have your pick from  2 or 3 newly released books you would want your crate based off.  You would know which book you are receiving, but the rest of the goodies included would still be a surprise!  This would also eliminate the problem of receiving books that you have already purchased yourself.  I know, I’m brilliant.  With this in mind, I created a dream crate based off of V.E. Schwab’s A Conjuring of Light (the third and final installment in the Shade of Magic trilogy) which released on February 21st.

My Dream Crate:

» A hardback copy of A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab

aconjoflight

*This book can be purchase on Amazon for $15.46

» A Darker Shade of Magic Tote Bag

ADSOM tote.jpg

This A Darker Shade of Magic tote bag includes my favorite quote from the Shade of Magic trilogy.

*This tote is made by fableandblack and can be purchase on Etsy for $11.26

» Shades of Magic inspired candles

SOMcandles

These Shades of Magic inspired candles are inspired by the different Londons within Schwab’s Shades of Magic series.  Black London smells of mahogany, sandalwood, amber, sage and smoke.  Red London smells of carnation, violet, lilac and rose. White London smells of firewood, ash, black currant.  Finally, Grey London smells of leather, wood, rain and musk.

*These candles are made by LiberdeStella and can be purchase on Etsy for $26

» A Gathering of Shadows print

AGOSprint.jpg

This A Gathering of Shadows print would look perfect framed on my bookshelves next to my complete collection of the Shades of Magic trilogy.

*This print is made by CartabanCards and can be purchased on Etsy for $8

» Shades of Magic magnetic bookmarks

What bookish crate would be complete without bookmarks?  These Shades of Magic magnetic bookmarks are inspired by the characters.

*These bookmarks are made by HelloHappyCo and can be purchase on Etsy for $7.66

I would like to thank Loot Crate for contacting me about creating my dream crate!  If you would like to participate, there is no need to wait to be contacted by a representative, simply compile your dream crate and share away!

In fact, I challenge all my fellow book blogger friends to create their own dream loot crates.  I cannot wait to see what you all come up with 🙂

What did you think about my dream loot crate?

What would you include in YOUR dream loot crate?

Comment below and let me know!

  1. I haven’t read the series yet but that tote and that print! Gasp! I would order your crate and be introduced to VE Schwab this way!
Each month could have an author theme…I love it!
::runs to start own sub box company::

    1. We should combine forces for good and create the ultimate bookish subscription service! Do you have a money tree that we could use for start up costs?! Stephanie, how have you NOT read this series?!!? I demand you rectify this situation STAT!

  2. Brill idea to choose the book. I don’t buy sub boxes because I don’t want to end up with books that I’m not interested in or that might be duplicates of what I already have! I really need to carry on with this series, I’ve only read book 1 but I do own book 2 (it’s just wrapped up and I don’t know which one it is lol)

    1. Right? I would totally belong to a subscripton service where you pick the book, then the rest of the contents were based on that book… I don’t particularly want to invest in a subscription box where I am not interested in the book OR the contents being based off books I’m not interested in or didn’t like…

Kirsty, you must read A Gathering of Shadows! I liked ADSOM, but I freaking LOVED AGOS! Go find which wrapped book is the heaviest, and unwrap that one lol

      1. Haha I shall promptly weigh my books and unwrap accordingly!! I keep trying to guess based on size and weight when I do an unwrapping but most fantasy are about the same size and weight wise lol

    1. Oooo I haven’t read many books where there are unicorns… have you?! Not that you need a book in a unicorn box, but let’s be honest, books make everything more awesome. There is a unicorn in Stardust by Neil Gaiman… actually now that I think about that, that is a terrible recommendation if you like unicorns lol

  3. Your Loot Crate is awesome! I couldn’t have put it together better myself, actually! Unless we added a couple Funko Pops in there. 😉

      1. I don’t think they do, either. We will have to write Funko Pop and tell them to make some for us 😊

  4. I love this idea! Basically my dream Loot Crate would be a carbon copy of yours haha. It couldn’t have gotten better than that! Or maybe if it would have had a new kitten (probably named Kell), but I guess that would be animal cruelty to send kittens in a box. xD

      1. Yeah it probably wouldn’t be healthy for those poor kittens.. I guess I’ll have to find a new friend for my cat locally instead. 😉

  5. OHMIGOSH THOSE BOOKMARKS!!! Why are they so cute!!!?!?!!?

This is a wonderful post. I love what you’ve done with the challenge! I wish it was so simple for us to pick a book and get loot based on it. Perhaps if all the books matched a theme? You’re the genius behind it! If you figure it out, I’m totally onboard. One of the reasons I’ve never done a bookish subscription crate is that I don’t want duplicates of books. Or to be disappointed by the book I get. That would be the worst. I’m so picky. :-\ Worst.

But this Loot Crate? I’d buy that in a heartbeat– AND I already own ACOL! It’s worth it for two copies. 😀

  6. Ahhh if a subscription box existed like your wishlist, I’d be SO on board to buy it. That A GATHERING OF SHADOWS art print is to die for, and I really need to get my hands on those candles and bookmarks. I’m obsessing over this series ever since I finished ACOL. 🙂 Great post!

  7. I love this so much, Amanda! You’ve basically listed out my Dream Crate as well – even without the ACOL theme I probably want a hardback copy of that book as well as pretty much all the other items you’ve posted about, especially the magnetic bookmarks and the art print. I’m not a big bookmark user or even an art print hanger, but I’d make the exception for these ones. Great picks. 😉

      1. Because while pandas are the cutest ever – and not saying this just because I belong to this social class – it’s almost impossible to get nice fluffy unicorns things on my town, haha! Tbh, the trend is still getting here, it sucks!! I can afford panda-ish things with no problem, but unicorns?? I have to kill for those, it’s a shame! #what
