After slaying my January TBR, I knew it wasn’t likely that I was going to keep up the momentum in February.  I didn’t get to every book on my February TBR, but out of the 6 books on the list, I finished 4, got half way through 1, and didn’t even open the last.  Eh close enough.  I ended up reading 8 books in February, so I did go a little rogue from my original TBR…

Let’s see what’s on the agenda for March shall we?

NetGalley TBR:

20 NetGalley books down, 55 to go 🙂  I WILL knock this ridiculous TBR list out this year.  I promise I’ve learned my lesson and will never abuse NetGalley ever again lol

» The German Girl by Armando Lucas Correa

This was the book from my February TRB that I didn’t get to, so I will be giving it a go in March.  I’ve read some pretty amazing WWII fiction in my time, so hopefully this book will live up to my standards.

» The Last Girl by Joe Hart

I know I’ve mentioned that I’m burnt out of the whole dystopian genre, but something about this one intrigues me.  Plus I like a little variety in my monthly TBRs… Hopefully I won’t kick myself for putting this one in the mix this month.

SOKY Book Fest TBR:

I will be attending the SOKY Book Fest that takes place in Bowling Green KY on Friday April 21st – Saturday 22nd.  In order to prepare for this event, I will be adding books by confirmed authors to my monthly TBRs until the event.

» The Demon King (Seven Realms #1) by Cinda Williams Chima

I’ve never read a Cinda Chima book, but the reviews for this series are really good.  Has anyone read this series?  Any insight?

» My Father, the Pornographer by Chris Offutt

I was super excited to see that Chris Offutt was added to the list of confirmed authors.  I heard about this book when it came out last year, but never got the chance to pick it up.   Memoirs can be slow going for me, so I may read this one in small sections while I am reading other books.

March Book Club Selection:

» Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris

I don’t tend to read thrillers too often, so I am pleased that my book club selected Behind Closed Doors for our March book selection.  There are some fairly mixed reviews for this one, especially among my Goodreads friends.  There are many positive and negative reviews from blogger friends I trust, so we shall see which side of the fence I fall on.

  2. Slayyyyyin that Netgalley stack! you are my motivation Amanda! I wonder, do you ever come across any that make you ask yourself “& why did I request this book?” HAHA! Cinda WIlliams Chima is @ the very top of my list, the box set is actually currently sitting in my Amazon Wishlist. I’ve only heard rave reviews about this authors works as a whole so I think you’re in for a treat & I can’t wait to read your thoughts. March has me a bit everywhere with reading tbh, currently reading The Roanoke Girls which is disturbing to the tenth degree. The in btwn Of March i’m not so sure about but I do know i’ll be ending it with Mark Lawrence’ Red Sister. Happy Reading <3! 🙂

    1. Ohmygosh. There are so many books on my NetGalley list I’m like… “Why is this here?” I’ve been really frustrated with published auto-releasing books to me I didn’t request, too. No, I don’t want to read your book. Don’t ruin my stats! Ugh.

      2. Lmbo! Yes! I’m just ticking them off one by one Jackie, hoping to one day be able to read from my actual shelves without feeling bad of my NetGalley ratio 😂 I have no publishers auto releasing to me, think I’d be scared if I did 👀😂

    2. Haha don’t know if “slaying” is the right word for my progress with my NetGalley TBR since I’ve been working on for coming up on a year ((hangs head in shame)) BUT I am determined to get it done this year!

      Ooooo I just scored The Roanoke Girls from Blogging for Books!!! I can’t wait to see what you think when you are done.

      1. That’s ok, you’re efforts won’t go unnoticed lol. The Roanoke Girls was darrrrrrrk & twisted, sure didn’t expect what I got since I skipped the synopsis. Sleeping in it, review to come this week for sure but it’s up there in rating.

  3. Wow 20 Netgalley books down!? How do you do it I must learn your sacred ways. I get so nervous every time I log into my Netgalley I never dare request any incase I end up being accepted for all and then either not getting round to them for ages or no enjoying them and having to DNF them – I am most certainly overthinking this though 😂

    1. I guess I worded my NetGalley progress wrong… the 20 books down is a count that includes the books I’ve read over the past almost year that I got myself into this mess… so in retrospect it isn’t that good lol HOWEVER I’m determined to read all of these books THIS year!

  4. I am excited to see how you feel about Behind Closed Doors! I have read a ton of fabulous reviews from some very trusted bloggers so I think this one will be a fun read for you. Especially since it is a genre you do not read as often. I hope March is starting off right for you ❤

  5. You are an inspiration. I can’t wait to see how much progress you make slayin’ that NetGalley TBR! I have sooo many books on my NetGalley and, well, I just sorta ignore a lot of them… O_o Good luck!
    I haven’t read *any* of the books on your TBR, strangely. But I did just pick up The Crystal Ribbon to read this month. I’m really excited!

    1. Oh don’t worry, I have NetGalley books that I am avoiding… I am leaving those for the end lol Once I hit that 80% I MAY just “forget” about them lol

      I hope you love The Crystal Ribbon like I did! I’m super nervous now for you to read it lol

  8. 4,5 out of 6 is great! My February TBR was basically a total failure haha. I actually have the third Dominion book on my Netgalley TBR; it’s not the best series out there, but after requesting the first book I just kept going. I guess I should also learn to monitor my Netgalley requests better haha. Good luck with your March TBR!

      1. I guess it depends on the series… In this case I had already requested the first two books, so I decided to request the final book as well and just finish it. But if I really don’t like the first book, I have no problem either just abandoning it. 😉

  9. I mean, kudos to you for sticking to MOST of your TBR; I’ve stopped even thinking about constructing TBRs at this point because I suck at keeping up with them, haha. I love Cinda Williams Chima’s books – I think she’s a force to be reckoned with in the fantasy genre. Loved The Seven Realms series – truly incredible. Hope you enjoy it!
