Happy New Year bookworms!

Yet again my weekly wrap-up is posting a day late and going live on a Monday instead of Sunday.  We had a nasty virus hit our house at Christmas and it has been slowly moving through each member of my family.  Guess it was my turn to join in the fun.  I’m ready for this evil to leave my house so I can get back to living my life lol

*Weekly Wrap-Up is a weekly post where I feature what posts were published on the blog for the past week, any bookish/blog happenings, noteworthy posts around the bookish blogosphere, what I recently finished reading, what I am currently reading, and what I will be reading next.

What have I been reading?

Recently finished reading:

I didn’t finish any books this past week 😦 Between taking care of my sick kids and then going down for the count myself, I haven’t really been able to get much reading time in.

Currently reading:

» Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

51iSWw2rpOL._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_

Don’t throw rocks at me for saying this, but I wasn’t in love with this book in the beginning.  Sure, I am enjoying it, but I wasn’t sure it was going to live up to all the hype for me.  ((Please no tomatoes either))  Now that the crew is inside of the prison, things have really started to pick up for me.  I shall see how this all pans out 🙂  I should finish it by tonight or tomorrow.

» 13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl by Mona Awad

13ways

This book has just been ok for me thus far.  There are parts I really enjoy and can relate to, but there are other parts that I am not feeling.

On deck:

» A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab

I’m really going to try and squeeze this one in this week before I start my January TBR list.  Wish me luck!

  1. I hope you and your family will get better soon, sending lots of hugs ❤ ❤ Also, I'm glad to hear you didn't fall in love at first sight with Six of Crows. I am a bit nervous about it, but now I guess whenever I get around to reading it, I'll lower a bit my expectations. Can't wait to read your full review 🙂

  2. I’m so jealous that you’re reading a Schwab books – why? Because I’m not reading a Schwab book. I should be, I should’ve have read one ages ago. I have failed the blogoverse. I can totally see how you found Six of Crows to be icky to start with! It took me almost a full month to get through it because things don’t really pick up . . . at all . . . until 2/3 of the way through. I’ve been putting off Crooked Kingdom for this reason, oops!

  3. We got hit by the scary Christmas virus in our house too! Looks like the evil isn’t limited by the Atlantic Ocean, lol! I hope you’re all feeling better now. 🙂 Thanks so much for including my post! There are some awesome sounding links in there, I’ll definitely be checking some out this weekend when I have an enormous blog hopping session scheduled! x
