I decided to share a few of my favorite movie adaptations…

» Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen ⇒ Pride & Prejudice (2005)

I don’t think I am alone in my love for this movie.  It was just so beautifully done.  If you take one movie recommendation from this list, make it this one.

» Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë ⇒ Wuthering Heights (TV Mini-Series 2009)

I know this is technically not a movie, but rather a TV mini-series, but I just loved this adaptation of Wuthering Heights.  If you are a WH fan and have never seen this version, I encourage you to watch it.  I don’t think you will be disappointed.

» Little Women by Louisa May Alcott ⇒ Little Women (1949)

This movie holds a special place in my heart.  I remember spending a week on my Grandparent’s farm every summer.  My Grandmother and I would watch this movie every time I came to stay.  I read the book for the first time this year and couldn’t believe the feelings of nostalgia that came flooding back.

» The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory ⇒ The Other Boleyn Girl (2008)

I actually watched the movie BEFORE reading the book with this one.  I loved the movie so much, I just had to read the book.  This was actually my first Philippa Gregory book, and I am so glad this movie introduced me to her books.

»The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings Trilogy: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King by J.R.R Tolkien

I love these movies.  Aesthetically, these movies are absolutely breathtaking.  I have to admit, I’ve only read The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring.  One of these days I will get around to reading the other two books.

I read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe for the first time this past month.  I always loved the movie, but until reading the book I didn’t appreciate how well done this adaptation really is.

» Me Before You by Jojo Moyes ⇒ Me Before You (2016)

Even though I think the movie left out some key elements from the book, I thought this adaptation was well done.  I thought it was cast extremely well.  It evoked the same strong emotions that the book did.
