After having such a productive week on the blog last week, this week was pitiful by comparison. Eh. Such is life.
*Weekly Wrap-Up is a weekly post where I feature what posts were published on the blog for the past week, any bookish/blog happenings, what I recently finished reading, what I am currently reading, and what I will be reading next.
This week on the blog:
Tuesday 9/20
Top Ten Tuesday: Best Audiobooks I’ve Read in 2016
Friday 9/23
Book Review: Little Nothing by Marisa Silver
Bookish/Blog happenings:
My autographed copy of Neverland Wars arrived this week! I won this on a Twitter giveaway from the author herself. Isn’t this cover stunning?
I also received this book all the way from Ireland. The author contacted me about reading his middle grade book James Clyde and the Diamonds of Orchestra. I agreed to review this book as I thought it might be fun for my son and I to read & review a book together.
He even personalized it to my son and I.
Recently finished reading:
Ehhh. There were some things I really enjoyed, like the dialogue between characters and the friendship theme, HOWEVER there were some things I would have liked to see done differently. Also, I think the word “cliché” was WAY overused…. annoyingly so.
This was my first Neil Gaiman novel and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it! Audiobook is the way to go with Neil Gaiman, as he is a brilliant narrator. This is the perfect book to pick up in October as it would be a perfect Halloween read.
Currently reading:
I am not very far into this yet, but I am very intrigued with the premise. This is a WWII retelling with a science fiction spin.
I’m not one for “fluffy books” but this author is going to be attending the BBTB book festival, so I thought I would give it a shot. I am listening to this via audiobook and the narrator is not my favorite, but I’m still enjoying it so far.
My son and I are about 15% in. So far, so good. My son is really into reading & reviewing his very first book 🙂
On deck:
The next book on my BBTB book festival TBR.
How was your week?
What are you currently reading?
What will you read next?
Have a wonderful week, and happy reading
I’m hoping to get to Fractured this week too! I love that you and your son are reading together. Im doing a blog tour for Roald Dahl and am reading the Twits, maybe I should read with my oldest.

How fun! A blog tour for Roald Dahl would be amazing! My son has read the BFG and liked it, so I will be looking forward to your review of the Twits.

My daughter read the BFG last year and saw the play at school so hopefully she’ll like the Twits too!

How are you deciding what books/authors to read from the BBTB book festival?

Basically whichever books I can get my hands on 🙂

Haha. That’s reasonable. The Wisconsin Book Festival is next month and I can’t seem to find any of the books at the library!

Wisconsin?!?! Do you live there?! If you do and say you are a Packers fan, you will win some huge bonus points from me 🙂
I’ve lucked out and gotten a few of the books approved through NetGalley, found a few book in thrift stores, gotten a few at the library, and purchased a few :

Oh yes, I am a former Ohioan now Wisconsinite who cheers for Green Bay and Ohio State. It’s very confusing to all my friends, but I know my loyalties. 🙂 It didn’t even occur to me to try NetGalley! I just found two books which will be at our book festival. Brilliant.

Ahhhh you like Ohio State AND the Packers?! We are going to get along very nicely! Where in Ohio did you live? I live in a suburb of Dayton.
Yay! I’m so glad you were able to find a couple of the books 🙂

Oooh that cake!😍 Also I STILL have to read Graveyard Book🙈 I really love the cover for Neverland Wars, is it a retelling of Peter Pan? Happy reading!

You must read The Graveyard Book (via audiobook if possible). I think they are going to be adapting it to film in the future?
Isn’t Neverland Wars gorgeous? It is a Peter Pan retelling with a modern twist I believe.
Thanks for stopping by Bina! I know how crazy busy you are 🙂
