Hello my bookish buddies! Another week has come and gone and yet again I didn’t get much done on the blog front. I really don’t even have a legit excuse either. Life you know?
I did however make lots of progress on the little bookish project of mine, so at least last week wasn’t a complete fail. Here is what I had going on this week…
This week on the blog:
Tuesday 7/12
Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Facts About Me
Book Tag: Beauty & The Beast Book Tag
Wednesday 7/13
Top 5 Wednesday: Favorite Required Reading
Bookish/Blog happenings:
I have read 40 books for the year thus far! I am currently 8 books ahead of schedule, which tickles me to death. I would really like to be able to increase my goal to 75 books for 2016. Fingers crossed I can keep up this pace.
I got some book mail! After seeing Illuminae EVERYWHERE, I finally bit the bullet and ordered a copy. I must say, this book is probably one of the most interesting cover designs that I have ever purchased. I really haven’t read much in the realm of sci-fi, so I can’t wait to read this and see what the fuss is all about. Have you read Illuminae? What did you think?
It’s official! I registered my Little Free Library and received my official sign with charter number and everything. Charter #41985 for inquiring minds. I know you were all curious. It really is ridiculous how excited I am for this project.
Speaking of my LFL, I finally finished painting it. Red is always a tricky color to work with. This bad boy needed no less than 3 coats of red paint before it was deemed acceptable. It is starting to look more barn-ish no?
Here is my lovely assistant, Tom (aka Dad), “assisting” by putting on the hardware. When I say assistant, I really mean the man who built it for me. I supervised 🙂
I have also come up with a name for my library! I would like to introduce you to the Bellbrook Book Barn! (Bellbrook is the city I live in) I do enjoy a good alliteration.
That’s right, I am now officially the coolest person you know.
….and THIS happened!!!
Maggie Stiefvater, author of The Raven Cycle, will be attending Books by the Banks this year!!! BBTB is a book festival that takes place in Cincinnati OH in October! *Technically this was announced last week, but I didn’t see it until this week*
Other confirmed authors include Melissa Landers, author of Starflight, and Jenny Lawson, author of Furiously Happy.
Recently finished reading:
This is more like 4.5 stars. I think this was my favorite book in the series thus far!! I will be doing a series review for books 2-4 once I finish the last book in the series.
You can read my review of the first book here → Book Review: The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle #1) by Maggie Stiefvater
So this book… I had very conflicted feelings about this one. This is more like 3.5 stars, but I go back and forth. I do think this book would be a FANTASTIC book club read!
Currently reading:
While I am excited to finally be reading the conclusion of The Raven Cycle, I am also a little sad that I will have to say goodbye to the characters I have enjoyed so much.
It involves a circus. Sold!
On deck:
How was your week? What are you currently reading? Are you on track to meet your reading goal this year?
As always, thanks for reading and have a wonderful week 🙂
Great week! I loved The light between oceans but I understand it’s a difficult book to like haha

I didn’t dislike it by any means, but I also didn’t love it. I don’t know how I feel about it lol I cried like a baby though, so there is that haha. The writing is beautiful too. I’m not sure what the deal is!!!

You little free library looks uh-mazing!! Illuminae was my fave YA read last year. So much fun! AIDAN immediately became one of my all-time favourite characters. Hope you enjoy!

Thank you!!! It is actually up and running right now! I still have some touch ups and landscaping to do, but I’ll do a special post on it once I have a few weeks under my belt 😊
You have got me all excited for Illuminae now!!! I just wish I hadn’t committed myself to so many other books first 😅
