Happy Sunday bookish buddies! Hopefully everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mother Nature has been cruel to Ohio once again by supplying us with an unseasonably cold weekend. Like 20-30 degrees colder than what is average for May. I’m over it to say the least. I’ve started packing WINTER clothes for our SUMMER vacation to Wyoming in a week. Forecast is calling for highs in the 60s with lows in the 30s. Seriously? Why me…
ANYWAYS! I had something exciting happen with my blog this week…
Em @Keystroke Blog featured Cover2CoverMom on her new podcast, Book Talk by Em from Keystroke Blog.
I was so honored that Em featured my humble little blog on her podcast. I encourage everyone to check out her blog and podcast! If you are interested in listening to the episode that my blog was featured in, it is the most recent episode titled “Crowns and Knights.” Stay tuned for this week’s episode!
I’m also excited to announce that I have been working on some more original/creative posts this week. These will be more like “chats” on topics book related. I’ve been wanting to spice up my blog by adding content that isn’t the same old tags, memes, and book reviews. I was going to post one this week, but as luck would have it, I saw a fellow blogger post something similar to what I had been working on. I was bummed, but decided to hold off on that particular post and focus on others for now.
Here is what else I had going on this week…
This week on the blog:
Tuesday 5/10
Top Ten Tuesday: Odd Book Titles
Wednesday 5/11
Top 5 Wednesday: Classic Characters I’m Most Like
Thursday 5/12
Book Traveling Thursday: Favorite Bookish BFFs
Book Tag: The Harry Potter Book Tag
Friday 5/13
Book Review: The Butterfly and the Violin by Kristy Cambron
Currently Reading:
I am around 50% through The Alchemist and loving every minute! I am listening to it via audiobook and WOW!!! Audiobook is the way to go with this one. It is narrated by Jeremy Irons, who you may know as the voice of “Scar” in Disney’s The Lion King. His voice is perfection.
I am about 35% through this book, and I can’t decide how I feel about it yet. We shall see how this pans out.
Recently Finished:
I’m going to give this one 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the last 25% of this book, but the first 75% fell a little flat for me. Review to come soon!
On Deck:
After reading so many historical fictions, I need to mix it up a little bit. I will be listening to this via audiobook.
How was your week? What are you currently reading? What will you read next?
Have a great week and happy reading 🙂
Thank you so much for mentioning my podcast!! I loved reading your posts this week! I am going to keep my eye out for a review of Amy Poehler’s book… I really want to read it! Do you know if she reads the audio book version herself? That would be so fun to listen to!

My week was good, but I didn’t do much blogging 😦 Catching up on it all now XD I did read a lot though 🙂
I’m currently reading Room by Emma Donoghue and I’m just about finished it’s fantastic I can’t wait to watch the movie. I’m picking up the Raven King next! I can’t wait to finish this series and see how it all ties together.
It will be great to read some discussion topics, I love those posts so I’ll keep an eye out 🙂

Is Room the book about the mother and child locked in a room? Since having children, I’m very sensitive to any kind of abuse/neglect of children… That’s why I never read A Child Called It… I just emotionally can’t handle it. I’ve heard it is really good though!
I’ve seen The Raven Series around! The first book is available on audiobook on my library’s digital collection, and I’ve been contemplating it…

Yes that’s room, there is no child abuse and it’s nothing like a Child called it. It contains a lot about the mentality of children and how a 5 year olds world is what they know. The mother does get a abused but Jack (the little boy ) doesn’t understands what’s happening and as he’s telling the story there’s no in detail abuse scenes. I thought actually showed great portrayal of a mothers love and relationship with her child 🙂 I have a love hate relationship with the Raven series only because the whole series 4 books! Spans over 1 year and Maggies writing takes a bit to get into 🙂

That makes sense. I’m sure I’d still bawl like a baby though lol
How is her writing? Just a lot going on?
