Book Tag: The Harry Potter Book Tag

I’ve been trying to play catch up on my book tags!  I was really excited to participate in a Harry Potter book tag!!! Actually, I’m planning on re-reading the HP series this summer with my 9 year old 🙂 I can’t wait to share these books with him.  I hope it will be something he will remember the rest of his life.  I read the HP books with my brothers growing up and those were special memories that I will always cherish.

I adored the concept of telling the story from a murder victim’s perspective, however the plot took some odd turns which were not to my taste.  If you have read this book, you know what I’m talking about.  I would love to  rewrite this one and make it into the book it has the potential to be.

Funny how this series finds its way onto most of my book tags  🙂  I just can’t help it!  My favorite series of all times is Sara Donati’s Into the Wilderness series.   If you are a fan of historical fiction, I encourage you to check it out.

A book you wish you could have right now.

This is actually a spin off of the Into the Wilderness series (see above).  The Gilded Hour came out in September 2015.  I had been waiting for this book since 2010 when the conclusion of the Into the Wilderness Series was released.  I was not disappointed in The Gilded Hour!  I loved it!!! So now, I am waiting for the second installment in this spin off series… Please don’t make me wait another 5 years Sara!!!

A book that you found really confusing.

Maybe the theological concepts were way over my head… I just did not understand this book.  I know this book changed people’s lives and what not, but not mine.  Maybe I’ll revisit this book later in life, but not looking promising.

A dark, twisted book.

I read lots of gothic style novels, so I decided to go with the most recent one, The Lie Tree.  Guys, I just can’t get over how much I loved this book!  It is the first YA book of this year that I actually liked… You can read my review here → Book Review: The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge

A book that surprised you in a great way, reveals to be more than it is.

I accidently stumbled upon this memoir on a thrift store excursion.  Not going to lie, this was a cover buy.  It wasn’t until I was home that I realized it was a memoir.  I had never read a memoir before, but I’m so glad I read this one!  It is much more than it appears.  It’s not your average memoir either, if you didn’t know better, you would think you were reading fiction.
