Big thanks to Sammie @Bookshelves & Biros for tagging me in this book tag! You can read her selections for this tag here → Bookshelves & Biros Harry Potter Book Tag.
I’ve been trying to play catch up on my book tags! I was really excited to participate in a Harry Potter book tag!!! Actually, I’m planning on re-reading the HP series this summer with my 9 year old 🙂 I can’t wait to share these books with him. I hope it will be something he will remember the rest of his life. I read the HP books with my brothers growing up and those were special memories that I will always cherish.
The Rules:
» The fourth floor corridor is out of bounds to all those who do not wish to die a most painful death.
»You CANNOT use any Harry Potter books as your answers.
A book where you found the theme interesting, but you’d like to rewrite it.
I adored the concept of telling the story from a murder victim’s perspective, however the plot took some odd turns which were not to my taste. If you have read this book, you know what I’m talking about. I would love to rewrite this one and make it into the book it has the potential to be.
The first book in a series that got you hooked.
Funny how this series finds its way onto most of my book tags 🙂 I just can’t help it! My favorite series of all times is Sara Donati’s Into the Wilderness series. If you are a fan of historical fiction, I encourage you to check it out.
A book you wish you could have right now.
This is actually a spin off of the Into the Wilderness series (see above). The Gilded Hour came out in September 2015. I had been waiting for this book since 2010 when the conclusion of the Into the Wilderness Series was released. I was not disappointed in The Gilded Hour! I loved it!!! So now, I am waiting for the second installment in this spin off series… Please don’t make me wait another 5 years Sara!!!
A killer book. Both senses. Take it as you like.
I don’t know what could be more killer than a book about a serial killer… Want to read a book with an insanely messed up antagonist? Here you go!

A book that you found really confusing.
Maybe the theological concepts were way over my head… I just did not understand this book. I know this book changed people’s lives and what not, but not mine. Maybe I’ll revisit this book later in life, but not looking promising.
Your spirit animal book.
I actually talk about how Jo March is the character that I am the most similar to (in personality) in a Top 5 Wednesday post → Top 5 Wednesday: Classic Characters I’m Most Like
A dark, twisted book.
I read lots of gothic style novels, so I decided to go with the most recent one, The Lie Tree. Guys, I just can’t get over how much I loved this book! It is the first YA book of this year that I actually liked… You can read my review here → Book Review: The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge
A book that surprised you in a great way, reveals to be more than it is.
I accidently stumbled upon this memoir on a thrift store excursion. Not going to lie, this was a cover buy. It wasn’t until I was home that I realized it was a memoir. I had never read a memoir before, but I’m so glad I read this one! It is much more than it appears. It’s not your average memoir either, if you didn’t know better, you would think you were reading fiction.
You can read my review here → Book Review: The Orchard by Theresa Weir
I nominate…ALL THE BLOGS! Who wouldn’t want to do a HP book tag?! Come on! You know you want to be one of the cool kids… EVERYONE is doing it… ((insert other methods of peer pressure here))
What a great post – I love your answers.
The Shack – what was going on there – definitely not for me that one.
And, I love the look of the Lie Tree – that gets added to the list.

Yay! I love that you loved The Lie Tree, I really need to get around to reading it. Did you review it? If so I’d love to check out your post! Also, I totally agree with regards to The Lovely Bones – such a clever concept but the writing didn’t do it for me either! 🙂 x

Added Into the Wilderness to my TBR! And maybe The Orchard as well; I’m on the lookout for good memoirs 🙂

Great answers! I’m glad I’m not the only one who found The Shack confusing! I actually gave up reading it halfway through as I got a bit overwhelmed, but like you I may revisit it at some point. I think I got a bit bogged down with the theology because it was so much information to take in at once. I’m glad to see you enjoyed The Lie Tree – just got this from the library and I’m so excited to read to read it!

I felt the same way! And I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! I’m actually nervous now that people won’t like it after I’ve hyped it up 😅

I ALWAYS feel like that when I write a review. I get really scared that people will be like ‘what the hell was she on about, this is rubbish’ haha. I trust your opinions, I’m sure it will be great 🙂
